::One of the most spectacular natural places in Cuba. Incredible endemism (ie. lots of the animals and plants in this National Park are found no-where else in the world, not even in other parts of Cuba). With a good guide, you can find the Monte Iberia eleuth here, the Northern Hemisphere's smallest frog at 9mm fully-grown (it's gorgeous). Admittedly we visited shortly after Hurricane Matthew hit Baracoa, but there are very few tourists here compared to the more major tourist sites in Cuba. You can arrange tours from Baracoa with most of the tourist offices, or they will point you in the right direction. Our guide on a 3 hour walk through the park was biologist Wisdenilde Navarro Mendez ("Indio") and he was amazing - pointed out a lot of interesting plants and animals, found the tiny frog, managed to get a camoflaged lizard to jump onto my hand and was generally very knowledgeable about the biology of the forest.
