  So visited Club Karey in Varadero Cuba from March 11-18, 2019 very unimpressed on everything to start showed up to the resort at 3am so it was still dark and bell boy and the resort was drunk when we showed up to escort us to our room, when we arrived at our room the fridge didn't work, porsalin panels off the side of our bathtub where missing and cockroach’s under the tub, window in room where dirty and stripes of tape on 4 out of 5 windows and didn’t open one was completely cracked in serveral places, maid cleaned our room once every three days and gave clean towels, and was expecting a tips. Room not what it looks like in the pictures at all. The beach was nice with quite a few large concrete rocks but got out the goggles for a little swim and seen fish while diving, food at the hotel was very bland same thing everyday undercooked chicken and pork and had eggs twice while there and they ran out of them, staff on other hand expect tips for doing nothing and also yelling a residents, no towel paper in any of the bathroom out side of your room only bathroom stall missing door so you can’t use it. Bartenders very unknowledgeable when it comes to making simple drinks unless you like just rum and coke, The snack bar was good food cheese pizza, tuna sandwich, and pork burger. Very little activities to do at this resort. As for transportation around Varadero horse and buggy drivers will harass you I asked one driver how much the ride was total for myself and Girlfriend and when I got back to the hotel it became 3x that price for a 1/2 hour ride 60CUC I ended up paying. Some People at the market in Varadero are very pushy trying to get you to buy things I had some guy banding my name into a box before I even agreed to purchase it. My first time visiting Cuba and wouldn’t stay here again. Thanks for taking the time to read my review Cheers!! PS pay a little more money and stay somewhere else.

  Not for humans, only for reptiloids. A very nice buffet of flies, they do not change sheets so the bed is full of sand. Perfect environment for us reptilian people if we ever want a snack there will be mosquitos flying in through the window that is stuck open in most rooms. Water works only in some rooms but streets full of it almost every other night. Jellyfish all along varadero beach in the thousands some days, the entertainment and Low population fills the resort with depressed alcoholics. If you are a reptile that loves to play bingo by yourself you have come to the right place! Humans do not stay more than 1 week your legs will bleed from sand fleas on beach and no basket ball there are wasps, the gym has a treadmill made out of cardboard very nice.

  get what you pay for. buffet cold flies on food, no bread, milk.safe & toilet broken (manually flush inside tank). maid allowed only 2 towels would not give more. ants in bathroom and limited warm showers not hot water. no medical trained employees and had accident got home to find out have broken ankle. hotel & room amenities is not true. minibar no bottled water and bought our bottles, the bars would only give you a glass of water not the bottle. if your diabetic there is nothing you can drink but water. ala carte restaurant was good, chef takes pride in cooking, ate here every nite leaving large tip every nite.beach & sun lovely but not enough lounge chairs and garbage needs to be cleanedup. 1st timers should go to at least 3-4 star and not here.i have been to Cuba 6 times and will not come back unless 3 star or more.

  Small, basic but as close as I will ever get yo live in my own villa right on the beach. Staff is awesome and the resort has a family atmosphere. Lots of Cubans go here on the weekends. Local and friendly atmosphere not too touristy

  This is a cheap-y, and it's Cuba - so adjust expectations accordingly. That said, this place is great. You get what almost amounts to a private beach steps away from your room. Most of the staff are lovely. Cleaning lady did an excellent job. Rooms vary greatly in quality - if you don't like yours, ask nicely to be moved to a different one. Food is kind of crappy - as elsewhere in cheap Cuban hotels. At the same time, as elsewhere, if you eat fresh fish and aren't too picky about the extras, it's just fine. In fact, it kind of forces you to be healthy - we ate fresh fish (occasionally other seafood as well) and veggies every day. If you want to see and be seen, go elsewhere. This is not a party place, and it's full of generally older folks. But if you don't mind a smaller place with not a whole lot to do but spend time in the beautiful Caribbean and on the beach, you can't go wrong.
